Bio

Oblidivm was the retro, space-themed electronic music project of Sergio González. Active as an independent synthwave project from 2019 to 2026, it invited listeners to explore the cosmos through cinematic instrumentals, combining vintage synthesizers, orchestral arrangements and an organic, progressive approach to electronic music.

Inspired by artists such as Jean-Michel Jarre, Giorgio Moroder and Vangelis, its music embraced the epic scale and emotional depth of science-fiction cinema. Astronomy, interstellar exploration and humanity’s possible future among the stars shaped its themes, bringing together scientific curiosity, melancholy and imagination.

The project grew out of Sergio’s work composing soundtracks for small video game studios, which began in 2014. While creating the score for a retro-styled space game, he discovered a renewed fascination with the electronic sounds of the late 1980s. That experience laid the foundations for Oblidivm’s own musical universe, later explored through the albums “Immensity” (2019) and “The Fermi Paradox” (2023), alongside several singles.

In 2026, following changes in his personal life and a gradual loss of motivation after years of work with little recognition, Sergio decided to bring the independent synthwave project to a close. “Alone Among Stars”, originally intended for a third album, became its final release.

His creative journey continues through a return to soundtrack composition and new work in audiovisual storytelling with Satanko Films. Whether Oblidivm will ever return remains unknown, but this chapter has come to an end.

This website remains as an archive of the music and the worlds it explored, and as a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to listen. Every shared track, kind word and moment spent with this music became part of its story.

Thank you for being part of the journey.
