It is difficult to find the right words to say goodbye to something that has held so much of you.
Today, I am bringing Oblidivm to a close.
The artwork accompanying this post belongs to my last single, “Alone Among Stars”. That track was meant to be part of a new LP: another journey into space, another collection of stories told through synthesizers, melodies and orchestral arrangements. Now, it stands as the final release of a journey I had hoped would continue.
Recent changes in my life have made me reconsider where I want to put my time, energy and heart. I also need to be honest about something that has been difficult to admit: after years of effort, and with so little response to my music, I have gradually lost the motivation to keep this project alive. Creating it meant a great deal to me, but finding the strength to continue became increasingly difficult.
That does not diminish the value of anyone who listened. Quite the opposite. Before I leave, I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart, everyone who gave this music a little of their time. Everyone who listened closely, shared a track, bought a release, sent a kind message, or tried to connect with the worlds I was building.
There is so much music out there, and our time is limited. The fact that you chose to spend some of yours with mine is something I will always treasure. Behind these tracks were countless hours of work, but also affection, hope, and parts of myself that I could only express through music. Thank you for being there to receive them.
My work under the Oblidivm name began in 2014, composing soundtracks for small video game studios. In 2019, it became an independent synthwave project with its own voice and universe. That chapter ends here, in 2026.
I am now returning to soundtrack composition and taking a chance on the audiovisual world. It is where I feel the desire to create again, and where I want to put my energy as I begin this next chapter.
Can I honestly say that Oblidivm will never return? No. I cannot know who I will be years from now, or whether the spark that once brought this project to life might find its way back to me. But I do not want to call this a pause or leave anyone waiting for an album that is no longer coming. As things stand today, this is goodbye.
I wish the journey had gone further. Still, I am grateful that it happened, and grateful to everyone who shared even a small part of it.
Thank you for listening.
Thank you for giving these sounds a place in your life.
For now, this is my last transmission.
